It’s the first week of October, and my boys are already planning their Halloween costumes. To be completely honest, they’ve been planning since June, but it’s down to the wire now! I’m looking forward to seeing all the families trick or treating, but I get so tired of answering the door every five minutes. Just when you sit down to enjoy your show, DINGDONG! Time to get up and get the door again!
I was talking to my friends at the spookiest Hyundai dealer in Temecula, and they gave me a fantastic idea that would keep me from having to answer the door so often, as well as show off my new 2016 Hyundai Tucson SUV! No, wait, seriously – these ideas for how to dress up your car for Halloween action are brilliant, and they’ll totally keep you out of the house and away from the door!
Make It Look Like a Shark
If you’re going to be a pirate this Halloween, consider dressing up your 2016 Hyundai Tucson like a shark to complement your costume. Park your Tucson at an angle in the driveway and open the rear hatch. Put a red towel or blanket on the rear (to act as the shark’s tongue) and place the candy bowl on it. Cut white construction paper, or felt if you have it, into long triangles to look like shark teeth. Line the upper and lower portions of the rear hatch with these “teeth” and stand next to it for the evening. When trick-or-treaters come by, use your best pirate voice to invite them to reach into the “shark” mouth for their treats! This is especially effective if you have a fake “hook hand” to scare them with!
Make a Portable Graveyard
Making use of your driveway and an open hatch, gather up some decorations at the Halloween store that include foam tombstones, skulls and maybe a zombie or two. Gather any neutral (beige/brown/black) bedding or towels you have and toss them around in the back (to mimic dirt) and prop the tombstones up to look like they’re in the ground. Place the treat bowl in the graveyard and dress up like the Grim Reaper to welcome the families to grab their treats – if they dare!
Be a Circus Carney!
Halloween doesn’t have to be all spooky and scary – have fun with the 2016 Tucson liftgate! Dress up like a carnival worker and string lights around the open rear hatch of your Tucson. Get crazy with some cardboard and create a bean bag toss game or a Nerf dartboard that has numbers ranging from 1 to 4, with the bowl of candy sitting right next to it. Each person who comes for treats has to first play the game; whichever number they land on is the number of treats they get from the bowl!
See, Halloween doesn’t have to be scary! By bringing your decorated 2016 Hyundai Tucson into the picture, it turns into a downright party! If you haven’t taken a look at one of the most useful SUVs on the market, swing by and scare one up for a test drive! With a ton of new Hyundai vehicles in Temecula, and an unsurpassed selection of pre-owned vehicles as well, you’re bound to find just the treat you’ve been looking for!
