Surprise, surprise: Pennsylvania’s most famous fur-laden foe has seen his shadow again. Foe, friend or whatever you may consider him, Punxsutawney Phil has made the official announcement that six more weeks of winter are upon us all. While Riverside, Carlsbad and Irvine residents may not face the harsh temperatures and feet upon feet of the white stuff like our friends on the east coast do, we’ll bet you might feel bad for the little guy that’s become the brunt of such controversy. (Seriously, an Ohio attorney sought the death penalty for Phil on grounds of “misrepresentation of early spring” in 2013. Phil was spared due to a jurisdiction issue, thankfully.)
Maybe it’s Phil’s dirty, dark underground lair that leads him to unleash Jack Frost on us every Groundhog Day, and all he needs a bit of luxury in his life in order to send us the sun instead of the snow. We think he’d dig the opulent creature comforts that the 2015 Hyundai Genesis features (well, if he could drive), and we’re confident you will, too. Here’s why:
I can’t be certain, but I assume Phil’s dwelling isn’t exactly spacious. He probably couldn’t invite other groundhog pals over for tea and cucumber sandwiches in that area, if you know what I mean. The 2015 Hyundai Genesis interior, however, boasts a class-leading 123 cubic feet of space. A luxurious Genesis trumps a burrow every time.
Have you ever seen a groundhog run as fast as a gazelle? Neither have I. While the 2015 Hyundai Genesis doesn’t get around on limber paws and claws, it does come with an available 420-horsepower V8 engine that makes it a great candidate for Phil’s quick getaway vehicle any year he spots his shadow. So, pretty much every year.
It Doesn’t Care About the Weather Conditions
Chill out with the pitchforks and death penalty propositions, east coast folks. Coming from Michigan, I never met a snow day I didn’t like as a kid (Californians, I am truly sorry you likely never experienced one of these glorious occasions). As an adult, however, I quickly learned how stressful and dangerous driving can be when there’s, say, several feet of snow with a layer of black ice underneath. (I hated white-knuckle driving, but there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a brazen 4×4 – who thought they were invincible in the driving conditions – in a ditch a minute after honking and boldly whizzing past me. Truly priceless.) The moral of the story is, put down the pitchforks and embrace the wintry roads in a 2015 Hyundai Genesis with All-Wheel Drive (AWD). And with Genesis’ heated seats and Grammy award-winning 17-speaker audio system, you’ll forget how nasty it is outside just as quickly as you’ll forget how to spell ‘Punxsutawney.’
Hang in there, Phil. And let your friends at your favorite Riverside Hyundai dealership know when you’re ready to make the upgrade from your Pennsylvania burrow to a shiny new 2015 Hyundai Genesis – preferably before Groundhog Day 2016. You, too, Escondido, Sam Clemente, Sun City and Garden Grove residents!
